The nearby character village of Chilmark sits on the Wiltshire side of the border with Dorset, 2 miles from the bustling small town of Tisbury. Chilmark village boasts numerous attractive stone and thatched cottages, many made from local Chilmark stone, which was used in the construction of Salisbury's 13th century cathedral. The surrounding Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and gently undulating chalk downland provides wonderful walking opportunities, while there are also many delightful places to visit, such as picturesque Stourhead, historic Shaftesbury, Longleat, ancient Stonehenge, or the magnificent cathedral city of Salisbury.
