There’s so much going on in Wiltshire this summer, we can’t wait to get out and about and visit...
The Armed Forces Day is a national event through which people across the UK come together to celebrate the country’s army, navy and air force. A series of spectacular displays, demonstrations and parties will be taking place all over the country. This year, Plymouth has been chosen as host city for the festivities, which will take to the streets on Saturday 30th June.
Set to be the grand finale to Plymouth’s Armed Forces Week, this day will provide the perfect opportunity for anyone staying at holiday cottages in Devon over this period to explore what the city has to offer and discover some of its rich military and maritime heritage.
With most of the activities scheduled to be happening around the picturesque Hoe and Barbican areas, the event will open at 9:30AM and extend until 8PM, featuring live music and entertainment, an air show from the Red Arrows, and public visits to HMS Argyll, which is currently anchored in Plymouth Sound.
