You’re not going to run out of exciting things to do and places to go in Dorset, but when...
Spending a holiday in English country cottages during the run-up to Christmas is a wonderful way to get into the festive spirit, and no more so than in the Forest of Dean when Whitemead’s Winter Woodland opens its doors this yuletide.
Every weekend from 1st December onwards will see the ancient forest become a winter wonderland, complete with reindeer and ice skating rink. After playing with the reindeer and slipping about on the ice, visitors can spend some time searching through the festive craft stalls for great gift ideas or a warming and delicious hot chocolate.
The woodlands of Whitemead will provide a wonderful place to enjoy a relaxing walk before settling down in Forester’s Bar and Restaurant with a traditional, homemade mince pie. Delicious!
A day spent at Whitemead’s Winter Woodland looks to be fun for the whole family, particularly when Santa is involved! The festive fun is unleashed every weekend in December and everyday after 14th December until 2nd January.
