There’s so much going on in Wiltshire this summer, we can’t wait to get out and about and visit...
The beautiful Somerset city of Bath is once again preparing to host its annual tribute to perhaps its most famous resident, the authoress Jane Austen.
Running from September 14th-22nd at various local venues, the twelfth Jane Austen Festival is on course to be the biggest instalment of the event so far and is sure to provide a fascinating insight for both existing and new admirers into the life, times and works of the UK’s most widely read female writer.
With highlights set to include a Grand Regency Costumed Promenade, a Masked Ball at the renowned Pump Room (accompanied by a reception held amid the glorious surroundings of the historic Roman Baths), and a number of interactive workshops, the festival really is a must visit for anyone interested in either classic literature or the Regency period.
If you have been considering booking a holiday for later this year at one of the many picturesque English country cottages currently available, why not choose a location in or close to Bath so that you can also enjoy this much loved literary festival and experience the World Heritage Site city at its finest?
