There are plenty of cultural delights to discover whilst on Dorset cottage holidays and, on 17th December, there is particularly special cultural delight to find: the Electric Palace in Bridport will be screening a performance of Verdi's Aida.
Verdi's ancient Egyptian drama is a romantic tale full of heroism and tragedy, a story which is perfectly teamed with operatic singing. The show that is being screened at the Electric Palace was performed as part of the Metropolitan Opera Season 2012-13, starring Liudmyla Monastyrska as the Ethiopian princess Aida and Roberto Alagna as the hero Radamès. Conducted by Fabio Luisi, this production of Verdi's Aida is just as magnificent on the big screen as it was for its live performance.
Tickets are £14.50 for adults, £12.50 for Electric Palace members, and £10 for children. Call 01308 424901 or visit the Bridport Tourist Information Centre to book your tickets for this excellent show.
