Lyme Regis Walking Festival

Don’t forget to bring your hiking boots on holiday if you’re visiting Lyme Regis during the first week in November. Taking place during the first nine days of the month, there’s a whole host of routes that will allow you to enjoy beautiful scenery, while learning all about the fascinating history of the town from your guide. Prices range from absolutely nothing to £25, and can also include refreshments, entries to museums and even the use of an electric bike, depending on the walk.

Guy Fawkes Celebrations

Remember Remember the 5th of November with this fantastic display of fireworks on Weymouth’s Esplanade. Completely free, you can watch in awe as the sky is lit up with one of the best displays in the county. Entertainment also includes a Guy Fawkes competition, fun fair and beach bonfire beginning at 7.40pm before the fireworks kick off at 8pm. This family-friendly event is the perfect way to embrace winter on a cottage holiday with the children; just be sure to wrap up warm and bring along some sparklers for added fun.

Christmas Lights Switch-on

On the 29th of November, Lyme Regis will be starting its festive celebrations with the annual switch-on of the town’s Christmas lights. With a number of events including free lantern-making workshops, a Christmas hat competition and Father Christmas parade, it’s a great way to get into the festive spirit. You could even begin your Christmas shopping by perusing the quirky independent shops that Lyme Regis has to offer.
