This is the HIDEAWAYS Team.

From our office in Oxfordshire, the whole all do a bit of everything. We don't really do titles and none of us are precious about who does what, and this means that anyone who answer the phone will be able to deal with any enquiry... mostly. We look forward to hearing from you.

CHRIS

This is Chris. He’s the owner and boss and the one who keeps an eye on the day to day running of the business, the one who liaises with the finance, marketing, seo and web teams and the one who ultimately is in charge of?Ǫ well, everything.

Chris says, “It’s an unbelievable joy and privilege to be able to travel around to the most wonderful areas of the South of England, visiting places that people travel to from far and wide.

Some little known facts about Chris: Chris now lives in the Cotswolds, but in his early teens he lived in Penzance in Cornwall where his family owned a holiday cottage – he would ride his bike from Penzance to Marazion on changeover days with the new, clean linen on the handlebars to clean the cottage and get it ready for the next week’s guests. Also, he’s a pretty decent rugby-player and his lovely dog, Crumble, is our Office Dog.

JON

This is Jon. We like to say he's the backbone of the office. He's calm, collected, has a fantastic phone manner and having been with the company for nearly 7 years, he is an integral cog in the holiday cottage machine. There really isn't anything Jon doesn't know about the holiday cottage business.

Jon says, “I really like the unpredictability of the job. We never know what we are going to be asked next; no question is too obscure, no request too unreasonable, but on occasion it’s just as well that I’m blessed with infinite patience! At heart I think that I am a frustrated estate agent – I love noseying around other people’s properties”.

NICKY

This is Nicky. On top of being absolutely lovely, kind, funny and a calm influence on the office, Nicky’s main responsibilities are on the booking side, taking bookings and liaising with customers as well as owners. Nicky works on Thursdays Fridays and Saturdays alongside, as does Jenny, and together they are a double force of nice and efficient.

KATHY

This is Kathy. She says about herself that she is a sort of “Jack of all Trades”, having been with the company for more than 5 years, she now expertly handles everything from bookings, dealing with guests, owners and all the basic administration. Alongside her husband, Kathy own 2 holiday cottages in the Lake District, so Kathy knows better than anyone what our owners experience, another reason she is such a great asset to our team.

Jenny

This is Jenny. She works 3 days a week in the office, on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. She handles all things relating to bookings, owners and guests and, alongside Nicky, she keeps the office happy, up-beat and efficiantly run at the end of the week.

Jenny is also in charge of many office-related matters, like the holiday calendar and the Christmas party, making her THE most important person in the office. Luckily for us all, she's so lovely and makes sure everyone's needs and wishes are met at all times.

METTE

This is Mette. She manages all of our marketing. Mette is Danish (hence the 'odd' name), but we try not to hold that against her. She doesn't deal with bookings, guests or owners, instead she handles the things nobody else do, like marketing, campaigns, awards, newsletters, graphic design, social media and PR. When you tweet us or write to us on Facebook, she's the one you hear from.
