Introduction

Nestling in wooded country on a secluded hillside just outside the tiny hamlet of Lanteglos and close to the North Cornish coast, Stone Barn has been imaginatively converted from a former farm building, creating a very attractive, family-friendly home, well-placed for easy access to the many attractions of the area. For the active there are excellent golf courses (Bowood Park and St Enodoc links course): walks and cycle routes abound, including the Camel Trail which can be followed from nearby Camelford to the sea; and the spectacular South West Coastal Path has wonderful cliff scenery with superb coves such as Port Isaac and Port Gaverne. Numerous beaches are a short distance away; Trebarwith, for example, is ten minutes by car and the well-known surfing beach at Polzeath is twenty minutes. Sailing at Rock is a similar distance. Tintagel, Boscastle and Port Isaac are all within 8 miles.

There is a wide choice of pubs locally, serving excellent food; and for a special treat try Rick Stein’s seafood restaurant at Padstow or Nathan Outlaw at Rock or Port Isaac. For a family day out, children will be fascinated by the ancient castle ruins at Tintagel, while the picturesque fishing village of Boscastle (NT) is also well worth a visit.

The Stone Barn has welcoming and comfortable bedrooms downstairs, and the light and spacious first floor provides a most attractive family area at any time of year, with access straight into the beautiful and very private rear garden with decking, lawns, ponds and upper seating area. Adjacent to the house and above the garage is a large, open-plan room providing very comfortable sleeping accommodation as well as a games area with billiards and table tennis.
