Introduction

Porthia is very conveniently situated, being halfway along the street leading to 'The Island', also known as 'St Ives Head', the headland with a tiny chapel on its peak, which divides the town's two main beaches, Porthmeor (great for surfing) and Porthgwidden. It is also a short walk away from a car park (weekly tickets available). St Ives' harbour, specialist craft and antique shops, pubs, restaurants and internationally famous art galleries, including the New Tate, are within easy walking distance and the surrounding area provides an almost endless variety of visitor attractions - the Land's End & Lizard peninsulas, St Michael' s Mount (N.T) and the Helford River, with many beautiful coves, headlands and landmarks to explore on foot or by car.

Porthia is a ground floor apartment within a traditional granite fisherman's cottage. Refurbished by its current owner and approved by the St Ives Hotel & Guest House Association, it is bright and attractively decorated, providing an ideal base for a couple wishing to explore this lively seaside town with its warren of narrow cobbled streets and superb beaches.

Entrance via small lobby into open plan living room; sitting area with double sofa bed for alternative sleeping and fireplace (decorative only), dining area and fitted kitchen along one wall. Bedroom with zip & link bed offering a choice of two singles or 6ft double. En suite shower room/wc (NB shower has limited head height for guests over 6ft).

Although there is no garden, Porthia is located approx. 150 metres from Bambaluz, Porthgwidden and Porthmeor beaches.
