A traditional courtyard development of five cottages, on the southern edge of the Cotswolds.

These Cotswold stone cottages, expertly converted from original farm buildings, are situated on a 370 acre working dairy farm. There is a variety of other animals (cows, peacocks, guinea fowl and turkeys) to interest children, who can be shown round the farm, and an abundance of wildlife. There are walks across the farm which includes bluebell woodland and a stretch of the River Avon. The cottages overlook the beautiful Avon Valley with magnificent, south facing views over rolling grassland, the Wiltshire Avon and beyond to the distant Marlborough Downs.

Maunditts Park Farm is on the edge of the Cotswolds and is only 8 miles from the M4 motorway giving easy access to London, only 1 1/2 hour's drive, Bath, 45 minutes, Oxford, approx. 1 hour and Stratford-upon-Avon, 1 1/2 hours. There are many historical, architectural and archaeological sites and places of outstanding beauty to visit close by. These include Tetbury, Castle Combe, Lacock and Avebury (both N.T.) and Cirencester. The ancient, royal borough of Malmesbury is just 2 miles away, offering good shopping facilities.

Sporting and games facilities

Sporting opportunities on the farm are plentiful. These include coarse and stocked trout fishing on a mile and a half stretch of the Wiltshire Avon, tennis on an hard court (N.B. please bring racquets and balls), a large croquet area, swimming in the heated open air pool during the summer months. There is a sauna and table tennis area. Alternatively spend an evening in the large snooker room with full size table, TV, DVD and plenty of books. Away from the farm, clay pigeon shooting, golf, go-karting and ice skating are all available locally.

Other facilities

The services of a beautician (ideal for hen parties), offering facials, hairdressing, pedicures etc. and a personal trainer (aerobics) are also available (N.B. must be booked in advance).

Maunditts Park Farm Cottages can be booked jointly for larger parties. There are dining facilities for larger groups in Cow Byre.

Located on the edge of the courtyard, Orchard Cottage is a more recent building but still traditional in style. All rooms are at ground floor level with no internal steps. Large sitting/dining room. Fitted kitchen. Double bedroom. En suite bathroom/wc with separate shower over the bath. Twin bedroom. Adjacent shower room/wc.

There are also plenty of shared outdoor areas for guests and great walks right on the door step. Enjoy a barbecue by the swimming pool while you soak in the breathtaking views across the farm and countryside beyond.

What our guests say

Ideal location; pet friendly well equipped cottage

Lovely cottage on a quiet farm. Clean and well equipped. Very welcoming, helpful and friendly owners. Activities to occupy young and teenage children as well as the adults. We enjoyed tennis, table tennis and snooker which were a blessing for the rainy days we unfortunately experienced. The swimming pool looked inviting but for the weather. We took advantage of the fields and walks with our dog exploring the area around the river Avon at the bottom of the hill. Easy access to local attractions and facilities in Bath, Stonehenge, Swindon and the Cotswolds - depending on what interests you. We took the opportunity to visit Stonehenge and Old Sarum (Salisbury) as they were dog friendly. Planning to return as it is a good base with things to do if you do not want to travel far. Thank you from all of us including the dog who enjoyed watching the guinea fowl from her lead!!

Lovely place

The cottage is situated in a beautiful courtyard on a farm with lovely views. There are lots of animals close by, many peep through your window which is nice. The owners are very friendly as are their dogs. The cottage is basic but was fine for our needs. I would rate the cottage accommodation as 3 stars but the location and available amenities such as sauna, heated swimming pool, snooker room and table tennis push my rating to four stars. We would definitely stay again but we're not sure about about the water supply which strongly smelled of sulphur so we bought in bottled water to drink.

Breathtaking views, quiet location, excellent facilities, a real gem!

We loved our stay at Orchard Cottage. The views from the cottage are so stunning. We stayed for a week with our kids aged 11 and 8. We made the most of all the facilities, playing tennis every morning on the tennis court and swimming most days. We were amazed at how beautiful it all was. They also loved having the use of the table tennis table too. It was wonderful to see all the farm animals and seeing peacocks, ducks, turkeys and guinea fowl walk past our window. Great walks and pubs on your door step and plenty to do and explore nearby. The cottage was more spacious than we imagined and had everything we needed. The family who own it are really friendly and always on hand should you need anything. We had a great time and couldn't recommend more highly. Real value for money.

Most amazing experience!

We absolutely loved our stay at this farm. The cottages are lovely and views amazing but what makes it so special is the warm welcome to children and dogs and the experience you get...muddy walks through fields of cows, peacocks up trees, geese walking around...my daughter even held a two day old lamb. It's so special to be part of a working farm and to see all that happens. My children want to go back for their birthdays! one special place!
