Introduction

Situated just two miles or about 10 minutes’ drive from the centre of Bath, in the outlying village of Northend, New Mill Cottage has been tastefully converted from former outbuildings of the owner’s house and is very conveniently located for exploring the attractions of this World Heritage city. New Mill Cottage a Haven

Wonderful accommodation in the very pretty Batheaston/Northend area. Cottage has all the amenities to be expected and was clean and tidy. Lovely secluded patio/garden area to relax in in fine weather. Great location for visiting all of Somerset.

A perfect place to be

Our stay in the New Mill Cottage was very pleasant. We enjoyed the cosy guest house which has all the comfort one needs. Being a very allergic person, I was very keen that the place was tidy, clean and neat. That was perfectly alright and I had no allergic problems whatsoever! Also it was nice to be able to do our own cooking. The owner is very friendly and showed us the way to two nice, typically English pubs. That was lovely and being foreigners (Dutch) we really liked the English beers and the relaxed atmosphere. Also, Solsbury Hill, from the beautiful song of Peter Gabriel, was just around the corner: "Climbing up to Solsbury Hill, I could see the city light. Wind was blowing, time stood still. Eagle flew out of the night..." We loved our stay in the cottage and really recommend it!

Warm, cosy house in a beautiful location

We stayed in New Mill Cottage over Christmas and couldn't have been more comfortable. The bedroom is cosy and warm with a beautiful modern bathroom. The lounge room opens up onto a lovely garden and there is a little patio. The cottage has all the technology you would need, but more importantly it is peaceful and quiet. The kitchen is fully equipped and we were able to do all our own self-catering. The surrounding area is perfect for long walks in the fields and further up the lane is a beautiful old church. The owner is friendly and more than accommodating. This is the perfect cottage for a romantic getaway or for a smallish group. Bath is such a lovely town to explore so we were more than happy to walk around and then retreat to the cottage at night to sit in the quiet warmth and breathe the country air.
