This 200 year-old town house (left-hand brick gable in exterior photo) has been refurbished and modernised to an excellent standard, including now a contemporary and very spacious open-plan kitchen/dining area.

Situated in an historical area of Salisbury known as Vanners Chequer, it overlooks the Greencroft which has an enclosed play area for children and is only a few minutes’ level walk from the main shopping area, market square and Salisbury’s many visitor attractions.

Salisbury or the city of New Sarum is a unique blend of ancient and modern. Dating from 1220 when the Early English cathedral was built to replace the Norman one at Old Sarum, the city now offers a wide variety of attractions and amenities – a large market place, flourishing theatre, leisure centre, cinema, indoor swimming pool, arts centre, pubs, restaurants and street cafes, as well as a thriving shopping centre. Salisbury’s gems are undoubtedly its magnificent cathedral and the 80 acres of cathedral close which surround it. Beyond the close, the Town Path leads to the Harnham Water Meadows and the River Avon, where sheep graze and wildlife thrives.

Salisbury also provides an ideal base from which to explore this historic corner of Southern England. Visitor attractions are abundant – Wilton House, Stonehenge, Longleat, Bath, Winchester, The New Forest and the South Dorset coast, all being within an hour’s drive.
