Introduction

These Cotswold stone cottages, converted from original farm buildings, are situated on a 350 acre working dairy farm on the southern edge of the Cotswolds. There is a variety of other animals (cows, peacocks, guinea fowl, and turkeys) to interest children, who can be shown round the farm and an abundance fo wildlife. There are long walks across the farm, which includes bluebell woodland and a stretch of the River Avon; coarse fishing is available by arrangement. The five cottages overlook an attractive courtyard next to the dairy. They are very spacious and are furnished in a traditional cottage style.

Maunditts Park Farm overlooks the beautiful Avon valley and affords magnificent, south facing views over rolling grassland, the Wiltshire Avon and beyond to the distant Marlborough Downs. The farm is only 8 miles from the M4 motorway giving easy access to London, only 11/2 hour's drive, Bath, 45 minutes, Oxford, approx. 1 hour and Stratford-upon-Avon, 11/2 hours. There are many historical, architectural and archaeological sites and places of outstanding beauty to visit close by. These include Tetbury, Castle Combe, Lacock and Avebury (both N.T.) and Cirencester. The ancient, royal borough of Malmesbury is just 2 miles away, offering good shopping facilities.

Sporting and games facilities

Sporting opportunities on the farm are plentiful. These include coarse and stocked trout fishing on a mile and a half stretch of the Wiltshire Avon, tennis on an excellent hard court (N.B. please bring racquets and balls), a large croquet area, swimming in the heated open air pool during the summer months. There is a sauna and table tennis area. Alternatively spend an evening in the large snooker room with full size table, TV, DVD and plenty of books. Barbecue by the swimming pool or overlooking the breathtaking views of the Wiltshire countryside on a still summer evening. Away from the farm clay pigeon shooting, golf, go-karting and ice skating are all available locally.

Other facilities

The services of a beautician (ideal for hen parties), offering facials, hairdressing, pedicures etc. and a personal trainer (aerobics) are also available (N.B. must be booked in advance).

Maunditts Park Farm Cottages can be booked jointly for larger parties. There are dining facilities for larger groups in Cow Byre.

We all had the most fantastic time. The location was beautiful, the cottages well equipped and homely, the facilities were brilliant (the pingpong table and the pool were much enjoyed by the children particularly!

We had a fantastic long weekend, lovely accommodation and would like to come back to Bottom Barn next July/August for a week. Everything as described, very friendly people. Brilliant, from all five of us and the two dogs.
