Set in the Nadder Valley in Wiltshire, Chilmark is a small, traditional village with a church dating from the 13th century. Plenty of thatched and stone cottages remain adding to its charm. The village is still known for its local quarries from which stone was used in the construction of Salisbury Cathedral. The quarries later became the site of RAF Chilmark. For dining and drinking, there is a good pub – The Black Dog Inn.
