Nestled to the side of an impressive 18th century country house, South Cottage is tucked away on the edge of the village of East Lavant with stunning views across the Lavant Valley to Goodwood Racecourse in the distance. It could not be a more ideal location if you are heading to the Racecourse or Goodwood Race circuit in Chichester. Chichester is only two miles away with its impressive Cathedral, theatre, boutique shops and annul arts festival. The coast is a 20 minute drive away. There is a public footpath running close to the front door and a choice of good walks.
The Property has been refurbished to a high standard by the owners to ensure guests feel at home from the moment they arrive. From the lovely, light living room with French doors out into the pretty garden to the well-equipped kitchen, you'll find everything you might expect to make your holiday as enjoyable and relaxing as possible. A great choice for families or friends looking to spend quality time in the countryside but with all the conveniences of a town close by too.

For those wanting to enjoy the great outdoors, there is a whole network of footpaths and bridlepaths right on the doorstep taking you out into unspoilt countryside on foot, on cycle or on horseback. If you prefer to take to the water then sailing is available at Itchenor and Bosham, both less than half an hour away by car. If you want to spend the day on the beach then there are sandy beaches at East and West Wittering and a shingle beach at Bognor Regis, all within easy reach.
Chichester itself is steeped in history going back to Roman times - you can still see the remains of the Roman walls which encircled the town - and there is the wonderful medieval Cathedral to explore. There are plenty of shops and restaurants, both independently owned and high street names, and for a cultural experience, the Festival Theatre, The Novium Museum and Pallant House Art Gallery are all well worth a visit.
The area is full of historic houses and museums including Goodwood, Uppark, Petworth, Fishbourne Roman Palace, as well as HMS Victory and the Mary Rose in Portsmouth. You really will be spoilt for choice!
