This is a secluded, peaceful retreat for those wishing to explore the Sussex coast between Brighton and Eastbourne, famous for its stately white cliffs and shingle beaches. There are marvellous walks on the South Downs right on the doorstep with fields grazed by sheep and the common land of “Telscombe Tye” lying immediately beyond the boundary fence.
The Old Stable is exactly a mile from the coast road which gives easy access to Brighton (15 minutes' drive) with its famous Regency sea front architecture, Palace Pier, Brighton Pavilion and vibrant shopping centre, including The Laines with their independent shops, street cafes, pubs and restaurants.
Telscombe Cliffs itself offers useful local amenities, including a Tesco supermarket and two pubs a mile away. There's an outdoor swimming pool (Saltdean Lido) in the neighbouring village and two golf courses within 20 minutes' drive. The ancient Saxon village of Rottingdean with its picturesque village green and duck pond is 10 minutes along the coast road.
