Property Information

The Tea House lies midway between Penzance and St Ives, just above the village of Ludgvan. Sitting in a magical setting, this delightful, detached property overlooks a lily pond in the owner's fascinating four-acre garden, full of rare and exotic plants and shrubs. Although situated in the same grounds as two other detached properties we offer, The Cabin and Little Barn, it is completely separate with its own driveway and is in a extremely private setting. Carefully converted from the owner's original artist's studio, the style is based on an oriental tea house which blends perfectly into its almost tropical setting. Despite it's compact size (perfect for two), the living accommodation is really bright and roomy. Outside, a large deck area provides the perfect place to sit and relax, allowing you to take in the views of the pond and surrounding garden.

ACCOMMODATION
All at ground level.
Entrance from the deck via double French doors.
Fitted Kitchen/Dining Room with granite workstation, oven, fridge, microwave and glass-topped dining table.

Outside
Large deck with cane furniture overlooking the lily pond. Patio with granite Buddha feature, Bonsai maple and access to separate parking area. Picnic table and granite seat by the entrance with fine views over a wild valley. Guests at The Tea House can also explore the owner's superb sub-tropical garden below, which contains many rare and exotic plants from around the world and is a haven for wildlife. Complementary tours of the garden can be arranged

Sorry no pets. No smoking. Two pubs within walking distance. Unsuitable for young children except babies. Weekly lets between 13 July and 31 August starting on a Friday - short breaks of three nights or more may be available during this period if booked within 60 days of arrival.

Map & Local Information

The Tea House lies midway between Penzance and St Ives, just above the village of Ludgvan. The detached property enjoys a magical setting overlooking a lily pond in the owner's fascinating four-acre garden which is full of rare and exotic plants and shrubs. Sited away from the two other properties at this location, it is accessed via its own driveway and is extremely private and tranquil.

The exceptionally peaceful setting means that visitors may wish just to sit and enjoy the surroundings but there is also much to explore in this area. Mount's Bay is a five minutes' drive, where Marazion Beach provides access via a causeway at low tide or by boat at high tide to the stunning St Michael's Mount with its medieval castle and sub-tropical gardens. Land's End, Cape Cornwall, Sennen Cove and St Ives (famous for its artists' community and offering several 'Blue Flag' beaches) are easy destinations, and there are superb coastal walks and numerous ancient houses and gardens to enjoy. You'll also find a number of locations nearby used for the popular 'Poldark' television serial.

"What an ideal setting and location. Sue (the owner) has created a blissful and secluded retreat with The Tea House. It's a great place to stay where the only noises you can hear are the birds, the breeze and the stream babbling down through the woods. It's situated close enough to beaches and towns like St Ives (15 minutes) and only 40 minutes from Truro, if you're missing the City life."

"Many thanks Sue - we have enjoyed our week in the Tea House - so peaceful and different. Good weather apart from Tuesday. Excellent gardens close by and visits to various other attractions."

"The perfect little hideaway. Very relaxing and in an amazing setting. Lovely to be able to sit out on the verandah and not hear anything but birdsong. A short drive to the A30 means the lovely beaches nearby can be reached easily. An absolute gem and a credit to Sue's (the owner) vision. Being able to look up at a tree fern whilst I shower is a first for me! Will definitely be back."
