Carharrack, Cornwall Cottages
Originally a tinner's simple detached dwelling, Kitts Cottage has been sympathetically modernised to provide a comfortable and attractive place to relax and enjoy the peace and privacy it affords. The detached property lies hidden away up a bridlepath with tremendous, far-reaching views towards both the North and South Cornish coastlines. The village of Carharrack (shop and PO) is 1 mile away.
Small entrance lobby.
Sitting/dining room with woodburning stove in a granite fireplace.
Low doorway to light, modern fitted kitchen.
Steep open tread stairs lead from sitting room into a very large double bedroom with 4ft 6 bed and double height boarded ceiling and exposed stonework at either end; long views on either side. Ample space for visitors' own cot and/or the extra folding bed.
Lawned garden area at the front and a gravelled patio area at the rear. Further garden area with barbecue at one end of the cottage.
Access is via a 250m rough track. Pets welcome (livestock in adjacent fields). No smoking. Weekly lets between 13/07 & 31/08/18 starting on a Friday - short breaks of 3 nights or more may be available during this period if booked within 60 days of arrival.
The Cottage is also conveniently placed for visiting the many attractions of this part of Cornwall - the superb sandy/surfing beaches at Porthtowan and Portreath on the north coast, the cliff walks of the Lizard peninsula, the creeks of the Fal Estuary and the Helford River with their sub-tropical gardens (Trebah, Trelissick and The Lost Gardens of Heligan), shopping in the cathedral city of Truro (6 miles) - and of course famous St Ives with its laid-back artist community.
"We arrived in the dark- excited to see Kitts Cottage in all her glory on the hill. Woke up to an amazing, beautiful cottage with lovely views across the hills. Great walks - excellent for the dog. Although the weather was wet and cold we all enjoyed sitting around the fire, playing games, watching TV, eating and drinking. Bed very comfy, house warm and kitchen modern, clean and big! We would love to come back again and see Kitts Cottage in the summer. Great job Mark and Hayley on cleanliness and homeliness. Very cosy!"The Tighe family
"Just returned from a week at this lovely cottage with our small dog. Beautiful peaceful location with breathtaking views. With its location it is simple to visit most of this area of Cornwall on both sides of the coast. Met lots of friendly locals and found nearly everywhere very welcoming. Great local walks and great to explore hidden trails and paths. Only downside for me was the bridle path leading up to the cottage which is in a poor state and can only be passed at a snail's pace. The other downside for me was that due to visiting at half term most places we went were impossible to get to or stay at. Not anyone's fault except our own for picking this week and I would love to visit again at a different time of year."Guest's review on TripAdvisor 2017-06-03
"Thank you Hayley and mark for the great coms before we arrived. The cottage was lovely and exactly what we hoped for ... enjoying evening in front of the lovely log fire ! Our daughter loved every minute of exploring the garden along with Benson the dog ! Thank you Hayley and Mark for the fresh flowers and cream tea on our arrival! Great place to stay and would definitely book again."Guest's review on TripAdvisor 2016-11-03
