Groom's Cottage is situated in a tranquil, woodland setting in Dartmoor National Park. The delightful property is a semi-detached stone cottage close to the River Dart. The property lies hidden away in a clearing on the estate of a country house called Holne Chase. With plenty to explore just outside the front door, it's a perfect spot for a family holiday or a group of friends wanting a rural bolthole. Full of light and with high ceilings, the cottage feels spacious with all the modern comforts you'd expect to find in a home from home.With a cosy living room, bright, comfortable bedrooms and cheerful, well-equipped kitchen, it's a great place to come back to and unwind after a busy day exploring or sightseeing. You also have you're own private terrace for dining or just admiring the views of the woods around you.
A particular bonus for guests is that fly fishing for salmon and sea trout can be arranged on a private and higly regarded stretch of the Rivert Dart which passes through the grounds.
For larger parties, the cottage can be rented alongside H542 -Carriage House accommodating up to 13 guests.

Bedroom Two (Master Bedroom) with double bed (4ft 6) and wardrobe.
Bedroom Three with small double bed (NB because of room size, suitable only for single occupancy).
Bathroom/WC with bath, two basins and separate shower cubicle, accessible directly from master bedroom and from third bedroom via the lobby and a separate door.
Small terrace immediately in front of the cottage and a further grassed garden area just beyond the driveway.
Despite its rural setting, there is easy access to a huge variety of attractions and amenities within this popular holiday location.
For the active, or simply if you want to admire it's stunning scenery, Dartmoor itself offers walking, riding and fishing. if you're drawn to the coast, then there are unrivalled sights less than an hour away by road such as beautiful cliff walks, hidden coves and exhilarating sailing in famous estuaries such as Salcombe and Newton Ferrers.
The cities of Exeter and Plymouth are also easily reached, as are countless excellent restaurants, and a particularly wide variety of places of historic interest, many of them National Trust properties such as Compton Castle, Killerton House, Cotehele (just over the border into Cornwall), and the very unusual and interesting Castle Drogo, right on Dartmoor itself.
A particular bonus for guests is that game fishing (salmon and sea trout) can be arranged on a private, productive and highly regarded stretch of the River Dart, which passes through the grounds. The outstandingly beautiful area of woodland and riverbank (an SSSI) below the cottages is also available for guests to walk and picnic in - a rare privilege.

Upstairs: 3 spacious bedrooms with amazing bedding and duvets and 2 bathrooms.
