Beer, Devon Cottages
Gull's Rest is set high on the hillside and with magnificent views over the village of Beer - a finalist in Village of the Year 2018 - the harbour, the sea (as far as Weymouth and Portland on a clear day) and the World Heritage Jurassic Coast. You will not be disappointed by this superbly appointed house providing guests with a luxurious base from which to enjoy all the pleasures of this popular area.
Gull's Rest is one of those rare houses which inspires an involuntary gasp of delight when you first catch sight of the views it offers. The owners carefully extended the original house to take full advantage of the amazing views, both from inside the house (most of the front of the sitting room is glass and the vast master bedroom has a similar front wall and a balcony) and from the attractive terraced gardens immediately outside.
With its superb facilities - state-of-the-art kitchen with granite work-tops, generous bath and shower rooms (including a sauna) - and its general air of welcome, Gull's Rest qualifies on all counts as the perfect base for an unforgettable holiday in this lovely area.

On the coast, you really are spoilt for choice with endless beaches, both sand and pebble, wonderful walks (the South West Coastal Path is just at the end of the road), and the fossil-hunter`s paradise of the Jurassic Coast cliffs.
Beer itself has much to offer, too. You'll find caverns, formed by quarrying stone from Roman times onwards, Pecorama, a railway-themed attraction with fine gardens, and a wide variety of shops, pubs and places to eat. There is also an attractive, sheltered harbour and shingle beach.
