Escape to a pretty Somerset village, and stay in this delightfully quirky detached retreat. The Studio is a simple yet comfortable home is a chunky wood clad barn, which the owners have revived and improved into a very pretty country hideaway. From your elevated position you have some fine views over Blackmore Vale and once you've donned your walking boots (and with your dog if you have one!) you can head into the surrounding countryside for some truly memorable walks. Inside your accommodation is an open-plan space, furnished attractively and while compact it is just perfect for peace, tranquility and relaxing. Outside are large gardens which you can enjoy and where you will hardly see a soul!
The Studio offers a comfortable and stylish 'hideaway' in very attractive surroundings, perfect for a brief escape to an interesting area. It is situated in the grounds of a larger house but is far enough away to ensure privacy to its guests.
All on the first floor.
Entrance via a flight of wooden steps to small, south-facing balcony and thence through glass doors to open-plan living space.
Living Area with fine views and large, L-shaped sofa with TV, Freeview and DVD player.
Kitchen is well equipped with electric hob, oven and grill, microwave, washing machine & dryer plus fridge with freezer compartment. There is a breakfast and chairs.
Sleeping Area at rear of room with King Size double bed (5ft).
Separate Shower Room with shower, WC and washbasin plus heated towel rail.
Small balcony with table/chairs and further sitting space at base of steps. Shared use of owner's attractive garden incl. barbecue.
Small well behaved dogs welcome. WiFi. No smoking.
The Studio is situated at the top end of the tiny hamlet of Stoke Trister a delightfully 'quirky' retreat enjoying fine far-reaching views over the Blackmore Vale. Visitors may prefer just to relax on the balcony or enjoy the interesting local walks; but the peaceful, rural nature of the place belies the easy access to the multitude of attractions in the surrounding area.
The world-famous, landscaped gardens at Stourhead and the Saxon hilltop town of Shaftesbury are both within 15 minutes' drive, while the cathedral city of Salisbury, Stonehenge, Longleat, Georgian Bath and Sherborne, with its abundance of medieval buildings, abbey and castles, are all reachable in an hour or less.
