West Tytherley, Hampshire Cottages
Situated on a 60 acre farm, The Old Dairy is found in the heart of rolling Hampshire countryside, a mile and a half from the pretty village of West Tytherley. An idyllic setting to experience country living in its truest form, children will love to see the sheep, cattle, chickens and ducks on the farm and the owners will be delighted to show them around. This is a great venue for large family get-togethers and special celebrations.
The conversion of this former dairy has been beautifully executed, providing very spacious accommodation and retaining much of its original character, with many exposed beams, timberwork and interior brick walls. You'll find old pine and flagstone floors with rugs and furnishings reflecting the more rustic style of a country barn and adding bags of character. One of the most impressive living areas is the kitchen, with its double-height ceiling and fabulously old beams alongside modern conveniences such as the 'range-style' cooker.
Elsewhere there is ample sleeping accommodation with plenty of cosy beds, both double and single to suit all the family.
Double door entrance into spacious, farmhouse Kitchen/Breakfast Room, open to the rafters with range-style cooker, dishwasher, microwave and breakfast table/chairs.
Utility Room with washing machine/dryer.
Living Room (up two steps from Kitchen ) with three sofas (one converts to small bed for alternative sleeping for one person), armchair, TV (Freeview), DVD player and open fireplace containing a wood burning stove.
Large, beamed Dining Room with old pine table seating 12.
Bedroom One (down three steps), converted from the former dairy, with a double bed (4ft 6), cot and Ensuite Shower Room/WC.
Additional Shower Room/WC.
Bedroom Two with double bed (4ft 6), two extra single beds, wardrobe, chest of drawers and beamed ceiling.

There is much to see and do in the surrounding area. Within half an hour's drive are the historic cathedral cities of Salisbury and Winchester, Broadlands House (former home of Lord Mountbatten), Mottisfont Abbey and Garden (National Trust), Marwell Zoo, the ancient stone circle at Stonehenge and The New Forest, ideal for walking, riding, cycling and picnics. Further afield, but still within an hour's drive, is Portsmouth and its naval heritage including HMS Victory.
"We booked the Old Dairy to celebrate my dad's 70th birthday and the accommodation provided at this cottage was perfect. The owners were very helpful in our arrival and welcomed us to enjoy the farm. The children loved waking up to the sound of horses and being free to visit the chickens, donkeys and ponies. The accommodation was large enough for each family to have their own space and the well equipped kitchen enabled us to self cater, and enjoy the large dining area. The location is ideal for visiting the New Forest, we wished we'd stayed longer to see more. Be prepared for no WiFi (although I think the owners are looking into this). It didn't bother us, but you need to be prepared for this."Guests' review on TripAdvisor 21 February 2017. 5 of 5 stars. 2017-02-21
"Thank you very much for letting out The Old Dairy to our family last weekend. We had a fabulous time & my husband had a truly fantastic 70th birthday with his children & grandchildren. The accommodation was perfect, very cosy and warm; we were most impressed with how well equipped the kitchen is. The children loved seeing the horses in the mornings. Lastly I would like to thank you for the most delicious farm fresh eggs - A REAL TREAT - With best wishes."Mr & Mrs Bean 2016-11-01
