Elephant Cottage (so called because, bizarrely, an elephant was once housed in it!) has been converted from a former farm building to a quite exceptional standard. Set close beside an active dairy farm with pedigree herd and in attractive rolling countryside, this timber framed Herefordshire cottage is very well placed for exploring the surrounding area with its network of footpaths and wide range of places of interest. These include the cathedral cities of Hereford and Worcester, and the market towns of Ledbury, Ludlow and Leominster, whilst the Cotswolds, Malvern Hills, Wye Valley and Forest of Dean are all less than an hour away. The owner can also offer woodland walks on his farm and coarse fishing (three carp ponds - see additional pictures) by arrangement. The local town of Bromyard (approx. 5 mins. drive) offers a good range of facilities, as well as acting as host to an increasing range of festivals.
"A cosy, warm, comfortable cottage, very well equipped and in a great location to explore Herefordshire, Shropshire and Worcestershire. The owners, Margaret and Peter, were very welcoming and friendly. My husband enjoyed the private fishing despite the rain! Plenty of good places to eat within a short drive."Guest's review on TripAdvisor 2017-09-22
"Beautiful cottage - warm, cosy, very well equipped and ideally placed to explore Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Shropshire. Phil enjoyed his fishing until the weather go the better of him."Mrs G 2017-09-14
"We have really enjoyed our stay in this charming cottage. Thank you to Peter and Margaret for their friendly and warm welcome. This is a great location to explore the wonderful countryside and towns. We found plenty to do in the area, which include a visit to Brockhampton Estate and walks in the Bromyard Downs. There are two little fishing ponds but we would advise heading to the bottom one. There are plenty of baby common carp to catch and in a few years when they've gained weight they'll provide good sport!"Mr & Mrs Bisson 2017-04-01
