Corton, Wiltshire Cottages
Tucked away behind mature hedges and approached via a wooden footbridge, Foley's Cottage is every inch the quintessential English country cottage - thatched, detached, tucked away on a quiet lane, impossibly cute and surrounded by a delightful garden. Unsurprisingly we fell in love with the cottage when we visited and are sure you will too!
Inside the cottage is cosy and peaceful yet it is full of traditional charms which give it a lovely, historic feeling. The colours are restful and muted and with the added attraction of good quality furnishings, you can't help but feel right at home.
A stroll to the top of the grounds is rewarded by sweeping views of the surrounding downs. In the orchard you'll find the well-appointed summerhouse providing a wonderfully peaceful haven for relaxing after a day's activities in this outstanding area, perhaps before taking a short stroll to the famous Dove Inn and restaurant just below.
Its instant chocolate box visual appeal is obvious and we'd imagine you'll enjoy it as much as we did. Foley's Cottage has been awarded 4 stars (Gold Award) by Visit England.

There is a definate mediterranean feel dining on the patio (garden furniture and barbecue) with wonderful spiral staircase leading up the garden. Further parking at the Dove pub, just a minute's walk from the house.

Situated in the Wylye Valley, the location is ideal for exploring this beautiful area, with its history, magnificent landscapes and magical places to visit.
If you like to get outdoors, then there are plentiful footpaths, bridle and cycleways in this part of South Wiltshire. You also have direct access onto the Wessex Ridgeway, which runs along the western boundary of the cottage.
Further afield but still within easy reach by car are almost limitless attraction. The cathedral city of Salisbury is about half an hour's drive while the edge of New Forest National Park with its dramatic landscape and wildlife is about 50 minutes away by car. Prehistoric Stonehenge, Longleat Safari Park, Stourhead (National Trust) and Wilton House are nearer still, and the Georgian city of Bath and the South Dorset Jurassic Coast are both less than an hour away. You'll be spoilt for choice!
