Malmesbury, Cotswolds Cottages
One of five cottages in a traditional courtyard development on the southern edge of the Cotswolds, Orchard Cottage is a classic Cotswold stone cottage, expertly converted from original farm buildings into an attractive holiday home. Inside, you'll find clean and tidy rooms with a contemporary kitchen and plenty of space for a small family.
Surrounding the property is a 370 acre working dairy farm, where you'll come across a wide variety of animals (cows, peacocks, guinea fowl and turkeys) which should delight the kids (they can even be shown round the farm), as well as an abundance of wildlife too. Heavenly!
The farm is criss-crossed by a number of walks including paths through a bluebell woodland and along a stretch of the River Avon. The cottages overlook the beautiful Avon Valley with magnificent, south facing views over rolling grassland, the Wiltshire Avon and beyond to the distant Marlborough Downs.
For larger groups, Orchard Cottage can be booked with Stable Cottage, sleeps two (H133), The Granary, sleeps five (H135), Bottom Barn, sleeps five (H136) and Cow Byre, sleeps seven (H137). There are dining facilities for up to 16 guests in Cow Byre.

If it's local shops, pubs and restaurants you need, then the ancient, royal borough of Malmesbury is just two miles away.
"Lovely cottage on a quiet farm. Clean and well equipped. Very welcoming, helpful and friendly owners. Activities to occupy young and teenage children as well as the adults. We enjoyed tennis, table tennis and snooker which were a blessing for the rainy days we unfortunately experienced. The swimming pool looked inviting but for the weather. We took advantage of the fields and walks with our dog exploring the area around the river Avon at the bottom of the hill. Easy access to local attractions and facilities in Bath, Stonehenge, Swindon and the Cotswolds - depending on what interests you. We took the opportunity to visit Stonehenge and Old Sarum (Salisbury) as they were dog friendly. Planning to return as it is a good base with things to do if you do not want to travel far. Thank you from all of us including the dog who enjoyed watching the guinea fowl from her lead!!"Guest's review on TripAdvisor 07 August 2017. 5 of 5 stars. 2017-08-07
"The cottage is situated in a beautiful courtyard on a farm with lovely views. There are lots of animals close by, many peep through your window which is nice. The owners are very friendly as are their dogs. The cottage is basic but was fine for our needs. I would rate the cottage accommodation as 3 stars but the location and available amenities such as sauna, heated swimming pool, snooker room and table tennis push my rating to four stars. We would definitely stay again but we're not sure about about the water supply which strongly smelled of sulphur so we bought in bottled water to drink."Guest's review on TripAdvisor 26 June 2017. 4 of 5 stars. 2017-06-26
