Bishopstone, Wiltshire Cottages
Bridge Studio is an outstanding rural retreat! Set in a stunning village in the Broad Chalke Valley, it is a quintessential location to enjoy and a place where (we feel) you will be totally relaxed in no time at all. Set in the grounds of the owners' home, but private nonetheless, the property is a converted barn nad has been beautfiuly improved; it is packed with attractive features and has a New England style to it with white washed oak flooring and an airy feel to the rooms.
On the ground floor is an open plan living space which is light and bright - and tastefully contemporary, the wood burning stove creates a cosy feel and the view to the garden is relaxing. Upstairs is a good sized bedroom with sleigh bed, a bathroom plus a day bed for an extra guest. The property has been thoughtfully designed, with well lit, uncluttered living spaces and good use of natural materials, making this a very desirable base from which to explore this beautiful area.

Bridge Studio lies in the pretty village of Bishopstone, half way along the unspoilt Chalke Valley, which follows the River Ebble on its meandering journey to the cathedral city of Salisbury, 6 miles away. The surrounding scenery, which forms part of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is particularly renowned and there are wonderful walks from the cottage door by the river and up on the chalk downland and along the old Ox Drove above the village. For keen cyclists the Wiltshire Cycleway, which runs along the valley, is conveniently close.
Further afield but still within an hour's driving distance of Bishopstone are a whole host of visitor attractions – Wilton House, Stonehenge, Longleat, Stourhead and the World Heritage city of Bath. The New Forest National Park boundary is only about 20 minutes away and Dorset's “Jurassic” coast is a must for a day's excursion. Closer to home there is a string of pretty villages to explore between Salisbury and the Saxon hilltop town of Shaftesbury, with many ancient cottages, some fine houses, historic churches and plenty of excellent country pubs.
"Just wanted to say what a lovely break we had at the weekend. It was so relaxing to stay at Bridge Studio, such a beautiful, quirky and well appointed cottage. We are recommending it to our friends (and I hope we get to return ourselves at some point!). The cake, fresh flowers and jug of milk were a lovely touch and really made us feel welcome."Fay Thompson 2018-02-16
