Coombe Bissett, Wiltshire Cottages
The Garden Apartment at Shutts House really is a magnificent place to spend a holiday and guests will feel immediately at home, not least by the little touches the owners have left to ensure a comfortable stay.
Nestling in its private and secluded surroundings on the edge of the pretty village of Coombe Bissett, you will certainly have the impression of escaping to the country when you take up residence here but with all the modern comforts such sumptuous accommodation offers. The owners, who live in the upper part of the house with a completely separate entrance on the other side, have lovingly converted the lower level into an ultra-contemporary space with beautiful floors, soft furnishings and the highest standards of luxury throughout.
An important part of any day out will be returning at the end of it to relax in the peaceful, secluded garden and enjoy the almost Mediterranean effect of the luxurious outdoor furniture and discreet lighting - a magical experience.

Although on the outskirts of the village, its slightly elevated position gives this house an air of rural tranquillity yet you are only only two miles south of Salisbury with its famous cathedral, ancient buildings, wide range of shops and cafes and perhaps the finest Close in the country.
Situated at the eastern end of the much sought after Chalke Valley, the house is also perfectly located for exploring this outstanding region. If you want to take some time to discover your immediate surroundings, then nearby are several 'green lanes' (once drove roads) offering plenty of walks and rides. A little further afield is the Cranborne Chase, a former royal hunting ground consisting of magnificent stands of trees interspersed with fields and open land, with some tremendous views towards the coast in the far distance.
Elsewhere in the region, top of the 'not to be missed' list are prehistoric Stonehenge, stately homes and gardens such as Wilton House, Longleat and Stourhead and the unique landscape of the New Forest National Park with its abundance of wildlife.
Coombe Bissett itself has a shop and post office as well as a pub serving good food. Another choice for dining, is The Yew Tree in Odstock, just three miles away
"This is by far the best holiday cottage we have rented (and we have stayed in quite a few!), the luxurious interior design and facilities were second to none. Lizzie (owner) has definitely thought of everything, we couldn't believe the amount of facilities and equipment available, even spare toothpaste and toothbrushes (which came in handy for our forgetful 16year old!). As we have a 1yr old and our friends staying with us for a few nights have a 3yr old, we were so impressed that there were even age appropriate toys and games for them, along with a few kiddy treats in the fabulous welcome hamper, which also included some freshly laid eggs the next day!"Guest's review on TripAdvisor 2017-08-21
"The garden apartment is gorgeous inside and out. Lizzie the owner met us when we arrived and was very helpful throughout our visit. We had a lovely welcome pack on arrival full of local produce including water, milk and juice in the fridge. Molten brown products were available in all bathrooms and plenty of cleaning products provided including washing powder, dishwasher tablets and washing up liquid. In fact Lizzie has thought of everything and you will not want for anything. The garden is lovely and peaceful with lots of lovely lighting at night including fairy lights in the trees which look amazing. Although the owners live above the apartment they are not at all intrusive but are on hand if you need anything. There is a well stocked shop 5 minutes walk away and a good pub with good food in the village about 15 mins walk. We would recommend the Yew Tree for excellent food in Odstock about 3 miles away. The apartment is very luxurious with high quality furnishings and I would highly recommend."Guest's review on TripAdvisor 2017-08-11
