Located in the Forest of Dean, St Briavels is a Gloucestershire village which was chosen by the Normans to build one of their many castles – still standing today and well worth a visit. Beside it is the charming 11th century church. With a bustling community, the village has plenty to offer including a monthly farmers’ market, an annual carnival, a well-regarded village store and deli (The Pantry) and a friendly pub (The George Inn).
