Flaxley is a small settlement nestling on the edge of the Forest of Dean – it’s hard to believe it was once a major industrial area albeit from medieval times up until the late 19th century! The old Cistercian Abbey was founded in the 12th century and is now a private home. For local amenities, the riverside town of Newnham-on-Severn is three miles away while the nearest pub is The Red Hart Inn in Blaisdon, two miles away.
