Ashburton in Dartmoor National Park Holiday Cottages

Located close to the A38 and right on the edge of the Dartmoor National Park, Ashburton is a one of four stannary towns in Devon. The origin of this was a charter granted by Edward I in 1305 which meant that the town could participate in a monopoly on tin mining in the county. Nowadays it has a well-deserved reputation for the quality of its independent shops (including an award-winning fish delicatessen), outlets for quality antiques and a nationally-recognised cookery school.
