It really is 'a home from home' for us and our two dogs, always comfortable, cosy and spotlessly clean, thanks to the helpful couple who look after the cottage. The dogs were so excited to be back that they whizzed round and round the large, secure garden in celebration! On this visit we discovered 'The Pub with No Name', only five minutes away from Little Owl, which has a warm and welcoming atmosphere, serves great food and welcomes dogs. We made return visits to Hinton Ampner and Mottisfont, both National Trust properties. On the New Forest we saw not only horses, donkeys, cattle and deer, but a large sow with her ten piglets! In the evenings and early mornings at Little Owl we often hear owls calling to each other, and in the narrow lanes around the cottage we've seen deer and a hare. We are already looking forward to our next visit in the Spring.

Thank you for leaving your lovely comments on Little Owl and returning for a third time. We are glad you were able to experience the local wildlife and attractions. We look forward to welcoming you back in the Spring! Hideaways Cottages. Owner relations

The property

Stroll up the brick path leading to the front door of Little Owl and you'll feel as if you've stepped back in time.

With its traditional brick and flint exterior and thatched roof, this cottage really is picture perfect and makes a delightful country retreat in the heart of the village of High Cross.

Perfect for spending time away with family or friends.

While the cottage has a number of surprisingly spacious rooms, it is at the same time very cosy and comfortably furnished, with everything you could need for your stay.

You'll love the unique kitchen with its bespoke units crafted from antique pine as well as the fabulous roll-top bath, allowing you to take a long soak after a busy day.

Outside you'll find yet more delights awaiting.

Not only is the garden pretty and secluded, but there is an amazing garden room, with plenty of space for the kids to play, and a thatched summerhouse with a croquet set - the garden is perfect for whiling away a few hours in the summer sun.

All in all this is a popular place to stay in a deservedly popular region - a first rate choice for your next holiday!
