    - Mrs Hepburn & family,

The property

Homelea offers guests a very comfortable and attractive base from where they can really get to know this unspoilt part of rural Dorset.

With bags of original features and plenty of charm, the cottage has been sensitively refurbished and modernised.

Once inside the front door you'll be surprised by the amount of space there is to unwind in - the Living Room and master bedroom in particular are huge.

The decor is light and the furnishings are a real mix of traditional and contemporary, a nod to the cottage's past whilst at the same time ensuring guests have all the modern comforts expected from a 21st century home.

Step Outside onto the attractive patio and you'll find a garden table and chairs, nestled under a stunning, wisteria-clad pergola - a lovely spot to take it easy after a busy day.

About the location

Salisbury 21 miles; Bath 30 miles.

One of Dorset’s prettiest and most historic towns, Shaftesbury is perched on a spur of rolling green hills, and the views in all directions are without comparison. Lush green meadows, woodland glades and outstanding architecture are all within a short walk. One of the best vantage points is from Gold Hill (Ridley Scott's famous Hovis advert was filmed here) with its quaint, cobbled and very steep street. Visit the ruins of Shaftesbury Abbey (a place of great pilgrimage from the 11th century) or navigate the intricate and ancient lanes. Bath, Salisbury and Sherborne are all under an hour away, or drive through the stunning countryside of Blackmoor Vale down to the coast at Poole, Bournemouth and Weymouth. A beautiful area, that still carries the flavour of the very best of the English countryside.
