The property

Wilton Cottage is a charming mews-style cottage set close to the heart of Salisbury, a little gem that's tucked down a quiet, secret corner of this cathedral city.

The owner has totally refurbished the cottage throughout and created a welcoming city retreat ideal for short breaks just as much as it is for a long getaway.

The cottage is presented in a smart and contemporary style - very clean and fresh.

Inside is a good-sized, open-plan living area with smart new kitchen for you to cook up a storm.

The living area is light and bright and comfortable for up to four people.

There is a twin bedroom downstairs and cloakroom.

Upstairs is the second bedroom with a double bed, and a large wardrobe/cupboard on the landing which leads to the modern, newly fitted bathroom with toilet, sink, bath and high tech rain shower over.

Outside is a private and enclosed courtyard where there is a table and chairs for some alfresco dining.

Salisbury with it's renowned cathedral is just minutes from the railway station and close to all city amenities.

This well-appointed cottage provides a perfectly snug retreat for couples or an ideal base for families. Please note this property has a £200 Good House Keeping Bond, this will be shadowed at the time of booking.

About the location

Andover 17 miles; Southampton 23 miles

The medieval city of Salisbury is the jewel in Wiltshire's crown, dominated by the majestic 13th century Gothic cathedral. The cathedral offers 750 years of history including Britain's tallest spire, the world's best preserved original Magna Carta, and Europe's oldest working clock. The surrounding cathedral close, full of architectural gems, is bordered by the River Avon and ancient Chilmark stone walls. The city offers historic streets with charming half-timbered buildings, traditional pubs, characterful shops and a twice-weekly market. Or, stroll along the Town Path and take in the awe-inspiring views across the water meadows towards the cathedral. After dark, there's a thriving arts scene, including one of the country's leading repertory theatres, a lively arts centre, cinema and a wealth of independent restaurants. Should you want to explore further afield then a short drive from Salisbury takes you to Stonehenge, the National Trust's Stourhead House and gardens, majestic Wilton House, as well as the New Forest National Park, and the Hampshire and Dorset coasts. There's so much to see and do in Salisbury and surrounding area that your only concern will be finding the time to do it all!
