The property

Lynton 8 miles.

Bluebeard's Rest (so called due to local legend claiming that the infamous Pirate Bluebeard buried treasure in one of the farm fields) is a beautifully styled annex located in the stunning Exmoor countryside, and provides the perfect base from which to explore this beautiful part of the country.

Created very much for couples, almost boutique hotel in presentation, it's the perfect place to return to after a hard day exploring the rugged north Devon coastline.

Heated throughout by under-floor heating, it's guaranteed to keep you warm and toasty whatever the weather.

Created on one level (ground floor), you enter into the beautifully appointed kitchen / diner, equipped with all the amenities you could need to create mouth watering dishes to enjoy in the privacy of the intimate dining nook in the kitchen.

You then enter into the superbly appointed en-suite bedroom, cleverly designed to make the maximum use of the space available: relax on the king size bed, or curl up with a good book in the armchairs provided (but please note - this is the only comfortable indoor seating area - there is no separate sitting room).

The en-suite shower room provides additional luxury, with a large shower cubicle complete with rainhead shower.

When the weather permits (and it frequently does in this part of the country) then throw open the bi-fold doors and allow the Exmoor air to flood into the property.

The bi-fold doors also give access to the private and enclosed patio to the front of the property - the perfect place to enjoy al-fresco dining, or a spot of stargazing: Exmoor National Park is an International Dark Sky Reserve and home to some of the darkest skies in the country!

On a clear night, the night sky of Exmoor is absolutely stunning.

If you want to explore the area, then take a walk to Heddon's Mouth - only 2 miles away, but be warned, it's a strenuous walk - especially the return leg uphill!

A little further afield lie Woody Bay (3 miles) and Valley of the Rocks (4 miles) - both absolutely stunning and their beauty preserved by the National Trust.

If you prefer your leisure time to be spent in a more relaxing manner, then make the short journey (6 miles) to the small rural town of Lynton and coastal village of Lynmouth - which guarantee an escape to those wishing a complete change from the busy pace of modern life.

If you are looking for stunning coastline, amazing countryside or quaint villages, then Bluebeard's Rest is the ideal choice. MONDAY AND FRIDAY ARRIVALS ONLY PLEASE

About the location

PARRACOMBE

Lynton 4.9 miles.

In and around Parracombe, encounter acres of heather-clad moorland, wooded valleys and crystalline trout streams and if you are fortunate - red deer and the Exmoor ponies. Capture photographs of where the moor meets the sea. Be inspired by majestic cliffs and rocky coves. Guided Exmoor ranger walks are also available both along the coast and inland. At the point where the Exmoor National Park and the North Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty meet, is where you'll find Combe Martin. This small seaside resort, with all of the necessary amenities, is a great attraction for locals and visitors alike, and is home to a very popular beach as well its own Dinosaur Park! Follow the 230 hidden steps down to Golden Cove for some spectacular views. Situated on the South West Coast Path, Combe Martin is also home to several dog-friendly pubs and local stores; great for provisions along your journey. If you fancy getting out on the water, book a chartered fishing or wildlife trip, or alternatively hire a kayak and take to the calm waters in the bay.

Please Note: this property has been designed with adults in mind, and is not suitable for children of any age.
There is no separate sitting room - comfortable seating is provided in the bedroom, or when weather permits, on the private patio.
This a rural area - mobile reception can be patchy, and whilst wifi is provided (and is the best available to properties in the area), it is probably better suited to check emails / contact loved ones via Whats App rather than for streaming movies.
Please Note: the cottage benefits from having its own, spring fed water supply.
