“Wonderful house in a beautiful location.”

Owners are really helpful and kind. Thank you for the fairy cakes when we arrived. It was also great to have basic staples like salt, pepper, tea, coffee, dishwasher tablets, washing machine liquid provided. Perfect. There are not many places we've stayed that you can watch hares from your patio or lounge! Magical. Incredible variety of birds too - never seen a yellowhammer or a brambling before. We had to look them up - wifi worked perfectly. Sitting outside and watching red kites, buzzards, a special treat. Great little walk / cycle to The Norman Knight. Wyatt's Farm Shop is worth a visit too, and the Spar in Hook Norton is brilliant (not something I ever thought I'd say!). Great selection of vegetables, fruit and herbs. If they don't have it, I don't think you really need it. Thank you for a superb holiday.

The property

Top Barn, so called because of it's 'top of the hill' location(!), unsurprisingly delivers quite spectacular views across the northern Cotswolds.

With grazing cattle often roaming the field in front completing the perfect English picture, this delightful and quirky barn conversion is an excellent retreat for families who fancy something a little different.

The owners (who have two other excellent cottages) have undertaken a labour of love to convert the old cart shed into a spacious holiday cottage presented in a 'reverse living' style, with the living spaces upstairs and bedrooms down - thank goodness they did as the views are amazing.

The bedrooms are pretty and comfortable, the living space very well appointed - together the house is very much a 'home from home' and one we certainly enjoyed on our visit.

If you're the lucky ones in the master bedroom then you've got the view up the valley that is likely to keep you in bed for a good while!
