“We sought a peaceful and quiet holiday.”
This accommodation easily met that. It was secluded with wonderful wildlife very close by including bats, owls, squirrels, pheasants and much more. It was warm, cosy and of course a very historic building. Pauline met us on arrival and had stocked the fridge with local eggs, milk and scones with jam and cream. After a tiring journey, that was very welcome and a nice touch. The owners were always available but ever discreet so we felt totally independent and in touch should we have any questions or issues. Furnishings were traditional and fascinating including interesting paintings and furniture - including a huge comfortable bed. Perfect after a long day. The local town was very near and the surrounding scenery was like going back to England as it used to be - lush fields replete with livestock and lots of birdlife overhead. If you crave seclusion from a bustling world, with nature and fresh air on your doorstep this is the place to stay. I have no hesitation in giving it full marks - a rare event for me as I have always been a tough marker! Well done Pauline, Dean Hall and Hideaways. We got great value for our money and will definitely return.
