“A really nice place to relax and to explore the surroundings of Bath, Bristol and the Cotswolds.”

The Stable Cottage is spacious, clean and lovely situated next to the working farm with a really nice view of the countryside. The swimming pool was great, as well as the spacious grounds for same football and frisbeeing. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the accomodation!

The property

Located on a 350 acre farm on the southern edgeof the Cotswolds, Stable Cottage is an attractive former farm building, carefully renovated to create a cute holiday property for two or three people.

Converted from the former stable block, the property today is a simple, yet attractive home that we feel is ideal for those guests looking for a rural retreat, and still have access to some excellent facilities including an outdoor pool and tennis court.

Inside many period features remain with good sized rooms throughout while Outside the cottage has a private, south-facing terrace that overlooks the valley beyond.

About the location

MALMESBURY

Chippenham 11 miles; Cirencester 13 miles; Bath 23 miles; Tetbury 5 miles.

Dating back to the Iron Age and reputedly the oldest borough in England, the pretty market town of Malmesbury is located on a hilltop in the southern Cotswolds. Malmesbury is steeped in history and offers visitors over 400 listed buildings, a 15th century Market Cross, a ruined 7th century Benedictine abbey, an annual carnival and many independent shops, cafes and traditional pubs. Abbey House Gardens, home to 'The Naked Gardeners' can also be found in Malmesbury (Note: The gardeners are clothed during normal opening hours) and the annual Womad Music Festival is close by at Charlton Park. The area offers many country houses, including Rodmarton Manor and Gardens, and Chavenage House, a fine example of a Cotswold manor unchanged for 400 years. Just a short drive away is The Cotswold Water Park, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, covering 40 square miles and offering a wide range of activities, including boating, waterskiing, fishing, cycling, golf and horse riding, plus Bath, Cirencester and Tetbury are all within easy reach and well worth a visit.

Note: There is a good housekeeping bond of £100 when booking 2 or more properties. Note: The swimming pool is only available in the summer, and please bring your own pool towels.
