In recent years at HIDEAWAYS we've seen a change to the way the holiday cottage industry operates. We are asked more and more by potential landlords if we can service their holiday properties in their absence and for this reason we set up a service section of HIDEAWAYS which deals with the day-to-day servicing of properties. As we evolve we are gradually able to offer services beyond the traditional marketing offering. However and PLEASE NOTE at present we currently offer Property Services only in the Cotswolds and Bath region. More areas will be added in the future, so do check back or get in touch for more information.

Where we can our property services are delivered by a dedicated team who look after your cottage and who will –

Prepare the cottage for new guest.Be the point of contact for the guests should they have any issues / questions.Inspect the cottage after a booking.Do all household duties – cleaning, laundry, waste disposal; etc.

What happens?

Following an initial conversation, which we hope will detail the potential appeal of the property, HIDEAWAYS will look to arrange a visit to your cottage. We will also begin to pull together some indicative costs for running the property. This process can take time as there are a number of checks that have to be undertaken - PAT test, Gas Safety service or fire risk assessment for example.

Once the property is being marketed and taking bookings, we’ll then be liaising with the proeprty manager to check maintenance issues and take necessary action as swiftly as we can. Out of season we’ll carry out winter checks and if the weather is of particular concern we’ll make an additional visit to the cottage, just to give you peace of mind that everything is ok. In short we’ll do all we can to treat the property as if it was our own!

Property Cleaning and Servicing cost

We think this service should be available to any landlord where possible and realistic. We aim to pull together the three key elements of a property service (housekeeping, laundry and crisis management) and build a fair charge for this/these service(s). We don’t charge an inflated commission across the whole year on all bookings, we charge only for the time that we are active at a cottage, managing situations, cleaning and handling guest issues and we aim to be totally transparent.
