Wiltshire Heritage Museum in Devizes is due to get two new galleries as part of an exciting new project to show the history of Wiltshire to those staying on holiday in Wiltshire cottages.
The redevelopment will create a new Prehistoric Wiltshire Gallery which will contain the museum's renowned archaeology collection as well as some gold artefacts which have been excavated from Bush Barrow, near Stonehenge. A new Story of Devizes gallery is also due to be created which will contain Saxon artefacts, including jewellery from Blacknall Field, near Pewsey.
Work on these exciting new galleries is due to begin after Christmas and will be completed before the start of the school summer holidays. Although it is a long time until the exhibitions will be open, it will be well worth the wait and will be a great attraction for anyone thinking of booking their next summer holiday in Wiltshire.
