International Boogie Woogie Festival
Returning to Sturminster Newton for its 10th instalment, it brings the best boogie pianists in the world for three days of fantastic boogie woogie and blues music. With Mike Denham and Eeco Rijken Rapp among the headline acts included in the programme, there will be plenty of chance to have a dance and get into the swing of things. Raft Race in Bridport
An event which is sure to offer great fun for the whole family during your country cottage holidays, this year’s edition of the Raft Race is set to be held on 24 July and will featuring on the River Brit. It sees teams of up to six strong huddle onto a homemade raft and paddle up to a buoy and back. With prizes for the fastest raft, best dressed raft and highest sponsorship raised, why not come and along and join in the fun for yourself?
Corfe Castle Murder Mystery
While Corfe Castle remains one of the county’s best-loved attractions for history enthusiasts, those visiting the ruined fortress on 23 July will have a real mystery on their hands to solve. Presented by local dramatic group Double Act, visitors will have to have their wits about them if they are to find the truth behind the murder of Captain McManus by questioning the suspects, hearing the witnesses and seeing the evidence.
