There’s so much going on in Wiltshire this summer, we can’t wait to get out and about and visit...
Occombe Cookery School in Paignton is really starting to get into the Christmas spirit with their Christmas Cakes Masterclass, giving budding chefs the chance to learn how to make some tasty festive classics.
Get ready for a whole day of British baking fun on 18th November; expert baker Lucy Crosse will be leading a special class for the festive period. Bake a traditional fruit cake from scratch and add a layer of homemade marzipan, a taste that is worlds away from the supermarket kind that has put many people off marzipan.
On top of the traditional cake, those staying in holiday cottages in Devon who pay a visit to the cookery school will also be able to make a Buche de Noel, which is a chocolate yule log, and tasty spiced Christmas muffins. For the icing on the cake, there will also be the chance to make some simple yet impressive cake decorations.
Tickets cost £65 for the 10am-4pm session, including lunch, ingredients and tuition. Places on this excellent course must be booked, so call 01803 520022 to secure your place soon.
