A modern day carnival procession is full of music, dancing and plenty of fun. Whilst this all makes a fantastic event, why not try a carnival with a difference this summer with the Bridport Carnival Torchlight Procession?
On Sunday 19th August there will be a magnificent parade of torches travelling from Bridport to West Bay, where around 1,500 flames will be carried through the streets of the town.
This year will be the 41st anniversary of the torchlit procession and, along with the more typical carnival float procession on Saturday 18th at 7.30pm, the whole carnival weekend is a highlight of the Dorset calendar.
Torches for the procession can be bought at Bucky Doo Square from 6.30pm and the spectacular parade will begin at 9pm, leading down to a bonfire, live music and fireworks on East Beach. There will also be a shuttle bus back to Bridport so transport need not be a worry.
Join in on the fun if you are in the county enjoying Dorset Cottage Holidays and take part in a carnival with a difference this summer.
