There’s so much going on in Wiltshire this summer, we can’t wait to get out and about and visit...
The Swanage Blues Festival is all set to return this weekend, bringing one of the region’s finest events back for another instalment of fantastic music.
Attracting thousands of music fans from all over Dorset and beyond on their English cottage holiday properties year after year, the Swanage Blues Festival serves as the ultimate tribute to the genre and this year there are over 60 events pencilled into a packed programme of fun in this beautiful seaside town.
The 21st instalment of the festival, it will see the likes of Back Porch, Blues Machine and The Jawbreakers performing on stage over the course of the three days. Steve Darrington, the event’s organiser throughout its entire history, said that the high standard of music sees fans visiting from all over the world. The best thing about the Swanage Blues Festival is that there is something to offer everyone, and with the majority of venues close to each other, finding an event to suit your tastes is incredibly easy.
Music on offer at 15 venues
A huge organising effort has helped conform 15 indoor venues for this year’s event, with the East Bar, Bar One, the Quayside restaurant and the Mowlem Theatre among the places accommodating the performances. As well as these venues, assorted buskers have also been asked to play at the town’s railway station to ensure those travelling by rail can get in the mood as soon as they arrive.
The Swanage Blues Festival will feature from 7th-9th March, with wristbands offering entry to all performances now available from venues, shops and the Swanage Tourist Information Centre for just £10, with more information available from the event’s official website.
A great example of the many events available to those enjoying their cottage holidays in Dorset throughout the year, the festival could serve as a real spring of entertainment for anyone visiting this weekend.
