The Metropolitan Opera Season 2012-13 continues at Bridport's Electric Palace this month and sees Donizetti's Maria Stuarda hit the big screen. This streaming of a live performance all the way from New York is sure to provide a magical night of entertainment for those enjoying Dorset cottage holidays on 21st January.

One of the world's growing musical talents, mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato, beautifully portrays the doomed Mary, Queen of Scots whilst Elza van den Heever plays another famous monarch as Elizabeth I. This Tudor tale is directed by David McVicar and Maurizio Benini conducts the orchestra in this operatic favourite that is in very skilled hands.
