You’re not going to run out of exciting things to do and places to go in Dorset, but when...
Salisbury Cathedral is a joy to visit from Wiltshire cottages at any time of the year, but on selected dates until 20th December, there is an extra special reason to visit the Cathedral: the Christmas Tower Tour Specials at Dusk.
The tour involves an expert guide leading visitors around the Cathedral, imparting interesting facts about the history of the building as they go, including Chapter House and the Magna Carta. The group will then climb the 332 steps to the base of the Cathedral spire and enjoy a magnificent view of Salisbury's Christmas lights. Those who don't fancy the giddy heights of the tower can enjoy the beautiful sounds of Evensong sung by the choir.
After this, either a 2 course supper or festive refreshments of a mince pie and drink can be enjoyed, with tickets for the former costing £20 and £13 for the latter. The tours begin at 4.30pm and end around 7-7.30pm on 7th, 8th, 11th, 13th, 19th and 20th December, providing a great evening out in Salisbury.
