There’s so much going on in Wiltshire this summer, we can’t wait to get out and about and visit...
The longest running rural film festival in the UK will be returning to Dorset for its 16th year this month as Purbeck Film Festival gets underway.
From 12th-27th October, a unique cinematic experience can be found in numerous locations across the Purbeck area. Over 4,000 people get involved in some form each year, and with the wide range of films screening over the 2 weeks, this year is expected to be just as popular.
This year’s theme is Elizabeth Taylor as well as movie comedy, so some of the listings include classics such as Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Little Women, Woody Allen’s Broadway Danny Rose and Spinal Tap. An award-winning Danish film will provide a dramatic finish to the festival, and modern greats will be provided by The Artist and Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows.
This year’s festival looks set to be an exciting opportunity to see some real movie greats, old and new, perfect for anyone staying in Dorset cottage holidays as well as locals. The festival programme can be found on the Purbeck Film Festival website, including venue details and ticket prices.
