The 2017 New Forest & Hampshire County Show is fast approaching, with preparations well underway for this year’s event, which takes place from 25-27 July in Brockenhurst.

The popular agricultural celebration - which is now regarded as one of the top 10 shows of its kind in the UK – will be taking place for the 97th time in 2017, which in itself is a demonstration of the event’s loyal audience and enduring appeal.

A quick look at the programme for this year’s New Forest Show will be enough for first-time visitors to see why the occasion is always a high point of the Hampshire calendar; just a handful of the 2017 attractions include international show jumping, a tractor tug of war, the wholly unique Heavy Horse Musical Drive and a display by the three-time British motocross champion Jamie Squibb – and that’s just what’s happening in the main ring

30 acres of fun

Even if visitors aren’t tempted by the wide range of events set to entertain spectators in the ring, they will certainly not be stuck for things to do. The showground extends over 30 acres, with the usual plethora of educational activities, food tasting and much more keeping the whole family happy until the day winds down at 6.30pm.

The New Forest & Hampshire County Show has celebrated the best of the English countryside since its inception, and this year will be no different – egg hatching, milking demonstrations and a show farm where children can meet their favourite animals are just some of the many classic rural activities which await this year’s guests.

Whether you are a regular visitor to the area or are booking your first New Forest cottage holiday this year, this historic county show is truly an occasion not to be missed. Significant discounts are available if you purchase your tickets online, so be sure to take advantage by visiting the show’s official website.
