Plans were announced this week for the regeneration of a rundown arts centre in Ringwood, plans which have been devised by the local community and arts groups who best know the New Forest area.
The existing Greyfriars Arts Centre in Ringwood is overdue for an update and the new plans for its development look towards making the arts centre a great place for both locals and holidaymakers staying in New Forest cottages to head to. The proposed plans are expected to cost £4.5 million and will include a 250-seat theatre and cinema as well as space and facilities for a large social venue.
Members of the Ringwood Musical and Dramatic Society and the Ringwood and District Community Association are hopeful that they will make up the funding and are certain that locals and visitors will frequently use the arts centre for watching theatre productions, live event screenings, exhibitions and more culturally rich activities.
