There’s so much going on in Wiltshire this summer, we can’t wait to get out and about and visit...
Hampshire is a county full of beauty, with charming towns and villages brimming with character found in every direction. While there are a plethora of places you can explore while staying in one of the area’s holiday cottages, be sure to discover the wide variety of local events that the whole family can enjoy. Here are a few of the best events you can enjoy while staying in one of the English holiday cottages in Hampshire this April.
An event that the kids certainly won’t want to miss, the Gruffalo Trail invites you to head off into the heart of the forest and discover the tale of the Gruffalo and the Mouse. There’s no need to pre-book; just turn up at the Bolderwood Car Park between 11am and 3pm, but be sure to wear suitable outdoor clothing and footwear. The only cost is £2 for the booklet to follow the trail.
Lego at Milestones Museum
The kids are sure to love a day out to the cinema and with the chance to see a 2.5m-tall Woolly Mammoth built entirely of LEGO, it’s an event likely to see adults also unleashing their inner-youth. Called LEGO Lost World Zoo, there are a host of activities for the whole family to enjoy, including the LEGO brick flock of dodos, the chance to make your own bug and add it to the feature wall and even dress up as an explorer. Available to enjoy until 14 April 2014, tickets are available from as little as £7. Sure to be a popular event with those enjoying a stay in Hampshire country cottages during the period, those that are interested are being urged to book their passes right away to avoid disappointment.
Copacabana at Theatre Royal, Winchester
Offering a fantastic evening of live theatre, the Southampton Musical Society looks set to fill Winchester’s Theatre Royal with a touch of glamour. A story of laughter, tears and romance, it follows the struggles of entertainer Tony as he battles to rescue Lola – the girl of his dreams – from the clutches of Rico. Available to admire from 16-19 April, tickets are available from £12.50 and can be purchased now from the venue’s official website.
