There’s so much going on in Wiltshire this summer, we can’t wait to get out and about and visit...
For those of you who love country life, there will be a great opportunity to enjoy yourselves over the Early May bank holiday at the Hampshire Country Fair. The fair is back for another year at the Netley Marsh Showground.
On 1-2 May, the annual event offers entertainment, country attractions, animal performances, stunts and country-based sports. All of these are going to create a wonderful family experience.
Children are a clear focus of the Hampshire Country Fair. The little ones can enjoy racing ferrets, a variety of puppet shows, face painting, arts & crafts, and bouncy castles. For the adventurous, there will be child-friendly chances to learn gun dog commands, fishing, and even take part in flying a bird of prey. The event will also have a chainsaw carving display.
One of the event’s great attractions is the World of Dogs. Being at the centre of all country life, there will be dog display teams, hunting dog exhibitions, a dog fancy dress contest, lurcher and terrier races, as well as a collection of hounds.
Entering its 18th year, the event is hosted by Living Heritage Fairs. Spread over three separate arenas, organisers promise non-stop action. All the shows are open from 10am until 6pm daily and controlled dogs are welcome.
The county and the New Forest are perfect holiday destinations for families. Choose an amazing holiday cottage in Hampshire and you and your loved ones can spend time on nature walks, experience the maritime history of Southampton, and relish the celebration of country life at the fair.
To complete the experience at the country fair, organisers will also install marquees throughout the venue to celebrate local food, drink and crafts. Some of the best craftsmen in the UK will come to Hampshire to offer visitors some great country craft shopping.
